VinFast Confirmed To Attend Bharat Mobility Global Expo In February

VinFast, the Vietnamese manufacturer, has been confirmed to participate in the inaugural Bharat Mobility Global Expo that is scheduled to take place between February 1 to 3, 2024 in New Delhi. To date, 27 manufacturers are confirmed to participate in the event and VinFast is the latest entry in the list. 

While there have been rumours floating around that Tesla may be participating in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the organisers – EEPC India – told Acko Drive that the American EV manufacturer hasn’t yet confirmed its presence at the expo. 

VinFast participating in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is big news since this is the first time the Vietnamese manufacturer will have its public appearance in the country. 

Reportedly, VinFast is setting up another facility in Tamil Nadu to manufacture batteries. This factory will be different from the other facility where VinFast will assemble completely knocked down (CKD) units from Vietnam. VinFast is set to officially announce its plans at “an appropriate time”. The Indian assembly plant is said to have a capacity of around 50,000 cars each. Furthermore, VinFast is also considering bringing electric bikes and electric cars to India.
