Volkswagen India has announced a recall of 38 units across its Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan model lines. The recall pertains to a potential manufacturing defect in the track control arm, a suspension component that plays a vital role in stabilising the vehicle. This recall applies specifically to 38 vehicles produced between November 29, 2023, and January 20, 2024.
The recall follows an internal investigation at Volkswagen, revealing a possible irregularity in the production of the track control arm due to an issue at the component supplier’s end. The weld seam on the track control arm might have been missed in certain units, affecting the structural integrity of the part. In critical driving situations, such as sudden braking or sharp manoeuvres, this defect could compromise the stability and control of the vehicle.

According to Volkswagen, the defect could occur without prior warning and might increase the risk of an accident, posing a potential safety hazard for occupants and others on the road. The recall is being issued to address this concern and ensure the highest levels of safety for Volkswagen’s customers.
Owners of these vehicles are advised to visit their nearest authorised Volkswagen service centre for a thorough inspection of the track control arm. If an issue is identified, Volkswagen will conduct repairs or replace the component entirely, free of charge.
