The EX90’s launch in India will follow the brand’s trend of launching one EV every year.
The Volvo EX90 is likely to be launched in India in 2026. This will fall in line with Volvo India’s trend of launching one all-electric model in India each year, as it recently confirmed the EX30 will launch in early 2025.

Volvo India started this trend with the XC40 Recharge in 2022, followed by the C40 Recharge in 2023. This year, the Swedish brand launched the single-motor variant of the XC40 Recharge. Furthermore, it also recently announced that the EX30 electric SUV is scheduled to launch in India in early 2025.

So the only all-electric model remaining in Volvo’s global product portfolio that hasn’t come to India is the EX90 SUV. There is the EM90 electric MPV but that will first go on sale in China and then the rest of the world. While it could come to India too, the chances of the EX90 seem higher since the demand for an SUV is higher in India than an MPV.
The Volvo EX90 has three variants – Single Motor, Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance – and both get a 111 kWh battery pack. The Single Motor and Twin Motor Performance variants have a range of up to 580, while the Twin Motor variant has a range of 585 km. All variants support up to 250 kW DC fast charging support, allowing the battery to be charged 10 - 80 per cent in 30 minutes.

While the Single Motor variant gets a single-motor, rear-wheel drive setup, the other two variants of the EX90 get a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup with two states of tune. The Single Motor variant produces 275 bhp and 490 Nm. It can do the 0-100 kmph run in 8.4 seconds. The Twin Motor variant produces 402 bhp and 770 Nm, while the Twin Motor Performance variant produces 510 bhp and 900 Nm. The Twin Motor variant can do the 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds, while the Twin Motor Performance variant can do it in 4.9 seconds.
The EX90 has features like a 14.5-inch vertically oriented infotainment touchscreen, a 9.5-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof and more. Safety features include multiple airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, blind spot monitoring and an ADAS suite with sensors and Lidar.
