This is the second facelift for the XC90 and comes with a few minor cosmetic and feature changes.
Volvo Cars India has launched the second facelift of the XC90 in India at ₹1.03 crore (ex-showroom, India). The XC90’s second facelift made its global debut in September 2024. The second facelift comes with minor cosmetic changes, some new features and hybrid powertrain options.
The XC90 facelift gets a new grille with a new diagonal pattern, a redesigned version of Volvo’s signature Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs as well as a tweaked bumper. It also gets a new design for the alloy wheels and refreshed taillamp elements. There's a new Mulberry Red colour option on offer, taking the tally of exterior colour options to six.
Inside, the XC90 facelift comes with a new and larger 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, refreshed dashboard design, a new wireless charging port and extra storage space in the centre console. While globally the XC90 is available with either a 5-, 6- or 7-seat configuration, the India-spec model continues to be available as a 7-seater.
The India-spec XC90 gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist with 247 bhp and 360 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Volvo had a PHEV XC90 in India at a point of time, but that was discontinued in India in 2022. Like before, there is no plug-in hybrid version of the XC90.
The Volvo XC90 rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS (₹1.34 - 1.39 crore), BMW X7 (₹1.31 - 1.35 crore) and Audi Q7 (₹88.70 - 97.85 lakh).
