The Thar Roxx was launched in India on August 15, 2024, and has been in high demand since.
At Mahindra & Mahindra’s latest quarterly sales result announcement, the Executive Director & CEO (Auto & Farm Sector) revealed that the waiting period for the new Thar Roxx ranges between 9 - 15 months, depending on the variant.
Mahindra had earlier announced that it would ramp up production of the Thar Roxx by 5,000 units per month, which is now crossing the 7,500 units per month mark. This should help reduce the waiting period for the new Thar Roxx. By how much the waiting period would reduce remains to be seen.
The Thar Roxx was launched in India on August 15, 2024, and is priced between ₹12.99 - 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is available with a petrol and a diesel engine, along with a RWD and a 4WD drivetrain. The latter is only available with the diesel engine.
Mahindra’s rugged, five-door SUV is more than just a stretched version of the Thar. Along with the extra doors, it gets features like a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among others.
Safety on the Thar Roxx is as big as the SUV itself. While there are no crash test ratings as of yet, the Thar Roxx gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats as standard for all seats.
The Thar Roxx sits in the compact SUV space and rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha 5-door, in addition to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.
