As of now, five out of 10 models in Hyundai India’s portfolio have variants with ADAS tech.
At a recent media interaction, Hyundai India mentioned that of its 10-model strong portfolio, ADAS-equipped variants account for 30 per cent. Hyundai offers ADAS on five models in India such as the Venue, Creta, Verna, Tucson and Ioniq 5.
The first model from Hyundai to get ADAS was the Tucson, which was launched in 2022. The latest model to get ADAS is the Creta facelift. When asked if Hyundai is planning to offer ADAS on more models, Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai India, said, “It’s very difficult to give a guidance on the future products. As and when we believe that we are ready and the market is ready, then we’ll look at further expanding. But as of now, we are very happy with the kind of response we have got for ADAS.”
As mentioned, Hyundai India has achieved 30 per cent penetration in sales for ADAS-equipped variants of its models. The brand is confident that ADAS will be more accepted and Garg mentioned, “This speaks volumes about the acceptance of ADAS and it really encourages us”.
While Garg said they will wait before adding ADAS to its current model line-up, Hyundai will offer it with its future vehicles. For instance, the upcoming Creta EV has been spied with an ADAS module in the lower portion of the front bumper.
