Xiaomi has announced the successor to its popular Redmi 13C smartphone, the new Redmi 14C 5G. The company promises to democratise 5G Internet access, and also boasts of a large display and all-day battery life as the main attractions for this new budget-segment smartphone. The Redmi 14C is priced starting at ₹9,999 in India with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with the 4GB + 128GB variant priced at ₹10,999 and the top-end 6GB + 128GB option priced at ₹11,999. Xiaomi says its 6.88-inch display is the largest in this price segment. The resolution is HD+, with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and 600 nits peak brightness. There’s a 5160mAh battery and the phone can be recharged at up to 18W but ships with a 33W charger in the box. Two nano-SIMs are supported along with a dedicated slot for a microSD card.
There’s a 50-megapixel f/1.8 primary rear camera and an unspecified secondary camera on the rear. Videos can be recorded at up to 1080p 30fps. The 8-megapixel camera on the front is housed within a waterdrop-style notch.
