The Land Aircraft Carrier will be built at Xpeng Aeroht’s upcoming facility.

Xpeng Aeroht, a subsidiary of the Chinese automaker Xpeng, has revealed its new modular flying car called Land Aircraft Carrier. It consists of two modules and was recently showcased at the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition.

The Aircraft will have six rotors and two ducts to help it fly.

The Land Aircraft Carrier has two modules – Mothership and Aircraft. The former is a 6x6, all-wheel drive vehicle with rear-axle steering. Xpeng Aeroht claims the Mothership has “excellent load capacity and off-road capability”. The Mothership measures 5.5 metres in length and 2 metres in height and width. It is based on the 800-volt silicon carbide extend-range powertrain and Xpend Aeroht claims a range of more than 1000 km.

The Aircraft will be stored in the back of the Mothership.

The Aircraft is a six-rotor, dual-duct electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and is constructed using carbon fibre for lightweight durability. Xpeng Aeroht’s Aircraft has a 270-degree panoramic view from the cockpit and has seating for two. The Aircraft is stored inside the Mothership and it takes around five minutes to store the aircraft, and this process is automated. It also gets an autonomous mode that allows for one-touch takeoff and landing, automatic flight planning and autonomous flight.

The Aircraft will have seating for only two.

Xpeng Aeroht will build the Land Aircraft Carrier at a new facility which the brand says will become the world’s first mass-production facility for flying cars. Xpeng Aeroht says the facility will have an annual capacity of 10,000 units. Deliveries of the Land Aircraft Carrier are said to begin in 2026.
