Yulu will enter Hyderabad with its DeX NV electric scooter.

Electric vehicle-sharing company, Yulu, has expanded its operations to Hyderabad, marking its ninth city of operation in the country. The launch took place with the inauguration of the company’s purpose-built EVs, along with an EV rally that was organised by local delivery partners from last-mile service companies such as Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zepto.

This announcement comes just a month after Yulu surpassed its 100 million deliveries across India. Bajaj-backed Yulu will initially deploy its DeX NVs in the Cyberabad Commissionerate area, and later on, will bring the DeX GR electric scooter. Both share the same platform and while the NV is good for 10 kg of payload, the GR can accommodate an extra 5 kg load. However, the top speed of both scooters is limited to 25 kmph, making them ideal for the urban world.

The company's entry into Hyderabad also aligns with the State Government's plans for sustainable urban development. Moreover, Yulu's service will offer several benefits for delivery riders —  like affordable and flexible rental options to zero maintenance costs, and quick battery swaps through its associate, Yuma Energy. The company's inclusive approach also aims to create job opportunities for aspiring gig workers, including women, by eliminating common entry barriers such as the mandate for driver's licences or vehicle ownership.
