Zenvo has aptly named its hypercar, Mjölner, a tribute to the hammer of the Norse God, Thor.

Danish hypercar manufacturer Zenvo has revealed its most ambitious project yet—the Mjölner, a road-legal hypercar featuring a quad-turbocharged V12 engine producing up to 1250 bhp, with an additional 592 bhp electric boost. Zenvo’s latest powertrain—a 6.6-litre quad-turbocharged V12 engine is a rare configuration even among hypercars, places the Mjölner among an exclusive group of vehicles boasting four turbochargers, reminiscent of the Bugatti EB110.

Despite its immense output, the engine has been engineered to comply with current and future global emissions regulations. A key enabler of this compliance is Mahle’s Jet Ignition system, a technology that allows the engine to operate under ‘Lambda 1’ conditions, optimizing combustion efficiency. The engine will be built by Mahle Powertrain in Northampton, UK, which has become a hub for exotic performance engine development.

Zenvo’s V12 is the first in a modular engine architecture, potentially paving the way for more variations in the future. While details remain scarce, the company has hinted that smaller or less extreme derivatives—perhaps featuring fewer turbochargers or even a V16 variant—could be developed under this platform.

The Mjölner enters the hypercar market at a time of intense innovation. Recent developments from brands such as Bugatti, McLaren, and Aston Martin have reinvigorated the segment, with each company pushing the boundaries of performance, design, and technology. Zenvo’s offering stands out not only for its immense power but also for its intent to remain road-compliant while delivering an extreme, track-worthy experience.

With the engine now completed, Zenvo is advancing toward full vehicle development and testing. The company has indicated that further details—including a full powertrain reveal and dynamic testing results—will be shared in the coming months.
