What is NOC for Car?

A NOC is a legal certificate, which states that the issuing party does not have any objection to the details mentioned in the document. When it comes to motor vehicles, the NOC is associated with the bank or the RTO. In case of the bank NOC, you can avail the certificate if you have repaid the car loan so that hypothecation of the car to the bank can be removed by the RTO. As for the RTO NOC, you should approach the respective RTO to issue the certificate so that you can register the car at a different RTO. In both instances, you must obtain a NOC to further the respective process.

Importance of Getting NOC for Car:

If you decide to sell your car or if you are changing your place of residence within or outside the state, the NOC is a mandatory document that needs to be submitted to the RTO. The NOC states that you do not have any obligation to the respective agencies and have paid all required fees and charges or repaid the loan in case of a car loan from the bank. Bank NOC for Car:

  • Step 1: Visit the bank’s website.

  • Step 2: Download the NOC online by accessing your car loan account.

Note, if you do not have the option to download the NOC online, you need to visit the respective bank to obtain the NOC after you have repaid the loan.

RTO NOC for Car

Obtaining the NOC for your car from the RTO through the online mode is unavailable; however, you can submit the application form online and visit the RTO to further the process of your application. Below are the steps to apply NOC online to register the vehicle within or outside the State:

  • Step 1: Visit the Vahan Citizen Services website.

  • Step 2: Select the State and the respective RTO and click on ‘Log on to Avail Services’.

  • Step 3: Click on ‘Application for No Objection Certificate’.

  • Step 4: Enter your car’s registration number and the last five digits of your car’s chassis number.

  • Step 5: Click on ‘Validate Registration Number/Chassis Number’.

  • Step 5: Enter your mobile number to generate the OTP and click on ‘Show Detail’.

  • Step 6: The application form will be generated. Cross-check the owner details in the application form.

  • Step 7: Enter the car insurance details in the application form if it is not updated.

  • Step 8: Enter the State code of the new RTO and click on save.

  • Step 9: Pay the application fees and take the printout of the fee receipt.
