The Interceptor 650 is available at a starting price of Rs. 3.03 lakh, while the Continental GT 650 is priced from Rs. 3.19 lakh
Royal Enfield has launched its 2023 updated versions of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 twins. These motorcycles come with several new features, along with the addition of six new colours to its palette - four for the Interceptor 650 and two for the Continental GT 650. Customers can book these bikes starting from March 16, 2023. The Interceptor 650 is available at a starting price of Rs. 3.03 lakh, while the Continental GT 650 is priced from Rs. 3.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
B. Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield, said, “The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have received immense love from riding enthusiasts across the world. We are certain that the new colours, especially the all-black variants with alloys, will definitely give customers more reason to ride these motorcycles, while the new functional upgrades will add to a fun and enjoyable riding experience.”
Royal Enfield has introduced a comfortable seat, new switchgear, USB charging port, and a new LED headlamp in both the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The new seat design is expected to enhance long-distance comfort for riders, while the new switchgear provides a better tactile feel for improved usability. The USB charging port is a useful addition for charging electronic devices, and the new LED headlamp provides better illumination and visibility at night.
The 2023 range of Royal Enfield motorcycles offers new colour options, with the Interceptor 650 available in Black Ray and Barcelona Blue, and the Continental GT 650 in Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey. The blacked-out variants of these models boast a stylish appearance with blacked-out engine and exhaust pipes, cast alloy wheels, and tubeless tyres as standard features.
In addition to the blacked-out variants, Royal Enfield has introduced two more colour options for the Interceptor 650: Black Pearl, which offers a dual custom option, and Cali Green, replacing the previous Ventura Blue shade. Despite the new colour options, these two models maintain their classic wire-spoked wheels with tubed tyres and chrome engine and exhaust, consistent with the existing models.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 share the same powertrain, consisting of a 647.95 cc in-line twin-cylinder engine. The updated version of the engine is now OBD-2 compliant, providing an on-board diagnostics system that delivers accurate emission data. With a power output of approximately 47 bhp @ 7250 rpm and a torque of 52.3 Nm @ 5150 rpm, the engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox to provide a smooth riding experience.
