Tata Motors has finally revealed the prices for the heavily updated Nexon.ev facelift
Tata Motors has launched the Nexon.ev facelift in India and prices begin from Rs. 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). This refresh marks the first mid-life cycle update for the electric Nexon, which has been renamed the Nexon.ev. While both the ICE and EV variants share a similar design, the 2023 Nexon.ev receives significant mechanical enhancements to improve efficiency. Tata Nexon.ev Facelift: Variants and Price
The Tata Nexon.ev comes in 3 variants - Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, each with its own customizable elements. While the Medium Range (MR) version is available in 5 trims - Creative, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S and Empowered; the Long Range (LR) variant is available in 4 trims - Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S and Empowered+. The MR variant continues to use the 30 kWh battery, while the LR variant utilizes the larger 40.5 kWh battery. The MR version boasts an ARAI-claimed range of 325 km, while the LR variant offers a range of 465 km (MIDC), both representing a 12 km improvement over the previous models. Both versions now come standard with a 7.2 kW AC charger. Notably, the 2023 Nexon.ev now supports V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging, allowing users to charge other electrical appliances or even another EV.
Tata Nexon.ev Facelift: Design
The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev undergoes some design changes to set it apart from its ICE counterpart. Notable distinctions include a single-tone, body-coloured upper grille (in contrast to the black finish on ICE versions) and a unique slatted design for the lower grille and trapezoidal headlamp housings.
The most distinctive feature is the full-width LED light band across the front, borrowed from the Tata Curvv concept and serving a functional purpose by indicating the charging status. The 2023 Nexon.ev also sports various '.ev' badges.
Tata Nexon.ev Facelift: Interior
On the inside, the Tata Nexon.ev facelift closely resembles the regular Nexon.ev but features a newly designed layered dashboard. Notable interior highlights include a class-leading 12.3-inch touchscreen with a new user interface, a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel, a customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and touch-based HVAC controls with toggle switches.
Top-spec Nexon.ev EV facelift models offer a range of features, including a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and more.
Tata Nexon.ev Facelift: Powertrain
The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev features a new Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor that is lighter and uses fewer rare earth materials while offering improved cooling and efficiency. Tata claims that improved aerodynamics have increased the range by 2 per cent. The Nexon.ev can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.9 seconds, achieving a top speed of 150 kmph.
The vehicle features four-level brake regeneration, which has been improved by 10–15 per cent and can be controlled using paddle shifters. The MR variant produces 125 bhp and 215 Nm of torque, while the LR variant delivers 141 bhp and 215 Nm. Notably, power and torque have decreased slightly on the MR variant.
Tata Nexon.ev Facelift: vs Rivals
The heavily updated Tata Nexon.ev faces competition primarily from the Mahindra XUV400, which is priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
