The 2023 Toyota Vellfire comes with updated powertrain options and cosmetic tweaks.
Toyota Japan has revealed the refreshed version of its flagship Vellfire MPV, for the domestic market, with a possibility of it making its way to the Indian market next year. For 2023, Toyota’s TNGA platform (GA-K), on which the Vellfire is based, is optimised for better rigidity, along with a tweak in the suspension set-up. Moreover, the company has also upgraded the powertrain options on the 2023 Toyota Vellfire, along with cosmetic tweaks to the exterior and interior along with features updates.
Under the hood, the Toyota Vellfire comes powered with a 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder DOHC turbo engine that replaces the former 3.5-liter V6 engine, however, the engineers at Toyota ensured that the new mill is more responsive to throttle inputs than before. With more torque pumping out at lower speeds, the Vellfire now is equipped to better pick up considering its large proportions. Moreover, the NVH levels are also improved this time around while delivering a sporty exhaust note.
Toyota Vellfire also increases its real estate than before and is now longer while retaining most of the dimensions. Moreover, the front section of the MPV features a new grille in a reverse slant that stretches from the front to the back with the Toyota badge at the centre. The combination of chrome and black effect enhances the visual presence of the car, while the three-layered headlamps, split into two with the LED DRLs lower down. The fog lamp housing is massive and receives horizontal vents for better aerodynamics.
The profile is leaner, and flatter than before with cuts and creases throughout to give a muscular representation. The dual-tone alloy wheels look nice. The rear too is slightly tweaked with V-shaped LED lit taillamps and a generous splash of chrome used throughout to enhance its premium appeal. The rear spoiler is quite prominent and adds depth to the overall design.
Inside, the changes are minor but important such as the improved captain seats with Ottoman setting, ambient lights, 3-zone climate control, improved telematics, leather seats, premium sound system, and a full digital IRVM are all part of the standard equipment.
For the front passengers, the Toyota Vellfire brings a new and larger touchscreen along with crucial updates to the safety of the occupants inside. So, Toyota has ensured that the Vellfire comes with 7 airbags, VSC, traction control, hill assist, and blind spot monitor. Moreover, the Vellfire also brings with it a moonroof, cruise control, and wireless charging.
