The Bear gets improved hardware, better features and more performance

Royal Enfield has launched Bear 650 at ₹ 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom India) in Milan, making it the sixth family member of the 650 cc family. It costs roughly ₹36,000 more than the Interceptor 650. Here are all of the prices:

 Prices (ex-showroom India)
Boardwalk White₹3.39 lakh
Petrol Green₹3.44 lakh
Wild Honey₹3.44 lakh
Golden Shadow₹3.51 lakh
Two Four Nine₹3.59 lakh

Royal Enfield has made some key changes to make the Bear 650 a bit more capable of taking on bad roads in its path. While the design looks more or less the same, the side panels have the old school scrambling side plates, flat bench seat, and dual purpose rubber, all of which give it a beefy look.

Visually, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 looks like a beefed up Interceptor 650

Thanks to the longer travel suspension and 19-/17-inch wheels, the chassis has been raised by a decent amount. It is also fortified to take on the extra forces and challenges scrambling will throw in its path. The MRF Nylorex rubber are specially developed for the Bear 650, but they do have a Pirelli Scorpion STR vibe to them.

Complementing the package is the same 648 cc parallel-twin motor that is pushing out 46.80 bhp and 56.5 Nm. This was achieved because of the new two-into-one exhaust system with a stubby end can. For more details on the 650 Bear, check out this story. We have ridden the bike and found it to be more likeable than the Interceptor. Here’s our take on it.
