The RE Classic 650 is likely to make its India debut in November, 2024.
One of the biggest upcoming bike launches of 2024 is the new Classic 650 and the bike has been spotted. Pictures of the bike from the UK have emerged online revealing many details of the 650 cc motorcycle. First up is the styling and Royal Enfield designers have done a great job as the form factor of the bike is very close to that of the Classic 350. The headlight nacelle, mudguards, tail light, pea-shooter exhausts and even the fuel tank shape is very similar to that of the most popular Royal Enfield bike. The bike spotted had a dual-tone finish on the fuel tank and the Royal Enfield branding on the tank seems to have a retro font unlike anything we have seen on any other bike from the company.

Moving on you can see the chrome finish on the engine case to compliment the retro appeal of the motorcycle, spoke wheels with tube tyres and flatter exhaust pipes, which should improve pillion comfort, however on the bike spotted there was just a single-seat. The 650cc, parallel-twin engine is expected to offer the same engine tune as seen on the RE Super Meteor 650 which is 47 bhp at 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch comes standard.
The suspension hardware is also similar to the Classic 350 but the fork looks fatter and the twin-shock absorbers hopefully will offer a better ride quality than the Interceptor 650. Stopping power is courtesy disc brakes on both ends along with dual-channel ABS. The Classic 350 wasn’t renowned for its feature list and we expect the same to be carried forward on the new Classic 650 too, so you get a simple semi-digital console, USB charger, LED headlight and Tripper pod as an option for navigation.

The 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 650 is likely to make its global debut at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show scheduled in the first week of November in Italy. The new 650cc bike might make an appearance at the 2024 Rider Mania in Goa in the same month where prices for the bike might be announced. As for pricing we expect it to be in the range of ₹3.30 to 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will compete against the BSA Gold Star 650.
