The middle-weight ADV segment is set to become all the more enticing on April 16. With the launch of the new Triumph Tiger 900. Likely to be available in two variants in India: Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Some serious updates have been made to both of them and the resultant product is not just a more powerful ADV bike, but also more feature-rich, good-looking.
For starters, the engine has been reworked to produce 13 bhp and 3 Nm more than before, now pushing out 106.5 bhp/ 90 Nm. And yet, it has managed to become 13 per cent more fuel efficient. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with assist/slipper clutch, while Pro models also get the benefit of quickshifter aka Triumph Shift Assist system.
The bodywork has been renewed across the beak, cockpit, and side panels for a more aggressive and enduro-focused look. Neatly integrated is the new 7-inch TFT instrument cluster with new graphics and menu system, and a new USB C-type charger as well. Along with that heated grips, and tyre pressure monitoring system are also available as standard with the Pro models.
The cornering ABS and traction control are further optimised. Along with that, to improve visibility on the road, Triumph has also equipped a new emergency deceleration warning system and marker lights. There are four standard riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road. The Rally Pro gets two more modes – Rider Programmable and Off-Road Pro.
Keeping matters comfy during long hauls will be the new rider seat which is flatter and wider than before. The handlebar position has also been reworked, and in the Rally Pro, it has been raised by 15 mm for not just better hold, but also control. Aiding furthermore to rider comfort, are the adjustable 45 mm Marzocchi USD fork in the GT and 45 mm Showa USD fork with manual, preload, reload, and compression damping.
Like a typical Triumph bike, the Tiger 900 duo will also be available with a plethora of over 50 accessories. For more details about the Tiger 900 duo, keep an eye out in this space as we get you the latest details.
