2025 Acko Drive Awards: Mahindra Thar Roxx Is Off-Roader Of The Year

The Mahindra Thar Roxx was a hit right out of the gate! It's got all the off-road chops you could want packed into a spacious 5-door SUV body. This means you can tackle rugged terrain without sacrificing comfort for you or your family. This unique combination was missing in the compact SUV segment, and that's where the Mahindra Thar Roxx stepped in. With a price tag between ₹13 lakh to ₹23 lakh (ex-showroom, India), it's in the same range as some of the most popular SUVs out there – but the Mahindra Thar Roxx outshined them all to snag the coveted 2025 Acko Drive Off-Roader of the Year award.

Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx with both diesel and petrol engine options. The 2.2-diesel engine (which we tested) gets a boost of 42 bhp and 70 Nm compared to the three-door Thar. This extra power makes a difference, and as Satvik mentioned in his review, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx drives more like a car than a typical Thar.
