The versatility of the GSX-8R as an able tourer and a machine you can thrash around a race track set it apart from its rivals.
With awareness and appetite for performance motorcycles in the Indian market increasing, two-wheeler brands have started introducing many offerings from their international portfolio. The premium performance motorcycle also plays a key role for consumers in realising their dream of owning a premium motorcycle without costing a fortune.
The contenders were also interesting this year from twin-cylinder offerings like the Aprilia RS 660/Tuono 660 and the Suzuki GSX-8R to triple and four-cylinder bikes in the form of the Triumph Daytona 660 and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, it was an intriguing mix of bikes. What made this year’s category even more unique was the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, the largest displacement single-cylinder bike on sale globally.
Among this varied range of motorcycles, the Suzuki GSX-8R left a mark on the jury members the most. The styling of the bike is on point and it’s among the most good-looking supersports on sale in India. What impressed everyone the most was the 776 cc, twin-cylinder engine as it offered a good mix of high speed and low speed dynamics. The strong mid range surge meant that even if you rode the bike a gear or two high, the bike didn’t struggle. The versatility of the GS-8R really shined through as one can tour on it comfortably and also thrash it around a track like BIC and it will delight you with its performance. No wonder then the Suzuki GSX-8R is the 2025 TOTM winner in the premium motorcycle category.
