How do the two 125 cc family scooter offerings stack up against each other on paper?
The Honda Activa 125 has been revised for 2025 which sees the family scooter gain new features and a slight bump in performance as well. How does that help its case against one of its core competitors and a very popular choice in the market – the TVS Jupiter 125? Let’s find out
2025 Honda Activa | TVS Jupiter 125
Engine | 124 cc | 124.8 cc |
Power | 8.31 bhp @ 6,250 rpm | 8.04 bhp @ 6,500 rpm |
Torque | 10.5 Nm @ 5,000 rpm | 10.5 Nm @ 4,500 rpm |
With the latest OBD2B emission norms, Honda has had to alter its 124 cc mill which now produces 0.1 bhp and 0.1 Nm more than before. This in turn does help the Japanese scooter’s case to be slightly more powerful than the TVS Jupiter 125 – but not enough that can lead to a dramatically different riding experience. Either way, both will continue to be the ideal choice for anyone looking to buy something for their city runabouts.

Both the Honda Activa 125 and TVS Jupiter 125 keep matters conventional when it comes to their hardware components. TVS always pays heed making their products more balanced and easier to ride, and the wheel sizes help in that regard.
2025 Honda Activa | TVS Jupiter 125
Length | 1850 mm | 1852 mm |
Width | 707 mm | 691 mm |
Height | 1170 mm | 1168 mm |
Wheelbase | 1260 mm | 1275 mm |
Kerb Weight | 110 - 109 kg | 108-109 kg |
Underseat Storage Space | NA | 33-litres |
Seat Length | 712 mm | 790 mm |
The TVS Jupiter 125 has always been at the forefront in the run-up to being the most practical scooter in the country. From having the most spacious boot space, to boasting the longest seat in the segment – the TVS Jupiter has been designed from the ground keeping in mind the big Indian family. So, its not surprising that the Jupiter 125 is the bigger scooter here, while the Honda Activa 125 continues to be a much more compact offering.
On the features front too, the TVS Jupiter 125 is loaded to the brim with tons of connectivity features, which go beyond the regular turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alert. The top-spec TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect trim will get you voice assist, live cricket score, weather updates, and much more.
Honda has stepped up its game in this regard by equipping a new 4.3-inch TFT cluster and a USB C-type charging port. The former does support Bluetooth connectivity and can be connected to your mobile via Honda’s RoadSync app – which in turn gets you just turn-by-turn navigation, music control, and call/SMS alert. Additionally, the Honda Activa 125 continues to be the sole option in this segment to offer a smart key fob.
Due to all of these new additions, Honda had to bump the asking price of the Activa 125 quite significantly by around ₹7,000. Wherein the base DLX model now costs ₹94,422, the top-spec H-Smart will set you back by ₹97,146 (both ex-showroom prices, Delhi). The TVS Jupiter 125, in comparison, starts from ₹79,540 and tops out at ₹90,721 (both ex-showroom prices). This not only makes the latter a bargain for the kind of features and practicality it comes packed with but also a much better value-for-money proposition.
