Similar changes as the smaller SP125 with a minor price hike
Honda is on an update spree and within a short period, it has launched three new 2025 models. The Honda Activa 125 and the SP125 are now joined by the refreshed Honda SP160. For the new year, the executive commuter has become expensive by almost ₹4,000, wherein the base single disc variant is priced at ₹1.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the top double disc variant will set you back by ₹1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The updates that the SP160 received are similar to its smaller sibling: the SP125. Starting with the brand new 4.2-inch TFT cluster that supports Honda’s RoadSync app. The latter further gets you turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, music playback, and various information related to your ride. There’s also a USB C-type charging port onboard to charge your devices.
Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the same 162.71 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This powerhouse now complies with the latest OBD2B emission norms, due to which power has dropped slightly from 13.27 bhp to 13 bhp, while torque has increased from 14.5 Nm to 14.8 Nm and is produced at 250 rpm earlier. The 5-speed gearbox continues as it is.
While the bike’s hardware components have remained the same, aesthetically the Honda SP160 sports a new LED headlamp and LED tail lamp. To complement this, there are four new shades as well, namely – Radiant Red Metallic, Pearl Igneous, Black, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, and Athletic Blue Metallic.
While the changes made to the Honda SP160 are not that substantial, it comes across as a nice modern option. It remains a stable choice that one might seek against the Yamaha FZ-S Fi, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V.
