Crucial mechanical updates and the addition of a new feature are some of the key highlights of the new 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100.
Kawasaki has taken the wraps of the new 2025 Versys 1100 marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Versys 1000. For the new year, Kawasaki has introduced substantial updates, both mechanical and feature-wise, which are aimed at enhancing performance and rider experience.
At the heart of the Versys 1100 lies a revamped inline-four engine. Kawasaki has increased the displacement from 1,043 cc to 1,099 cc, achieved by increasing the stroke from 56 mm to 59 mm while maintaining the 77mm bore. The compression ratio is now also higher than before coupled with a heavier flywheel, and modifications to the airbox and camshafts – all of these have resulted in a power increase from 118 bhp to 133 bhp, with torque rising by 11 Nm to now pushing out 112.5 Nm.
On the design front, Kawasaki hasn’t made any drastic changes as such. The sharp and muscular fairing design continues with the signature, aggressive twin-LED headlight design. However, around the powertrain section, there are a few visual tweaks standing out courtesy the larger connector pipes, and to keep matters cool, there’s also a larger radiator. Beyond these, the new 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 has gained three new colour options - Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray, Metallic Graphite Gray / Metallic Diablo Black, and Pearl Robotic White / Metallic Diablo Black.
In the European market, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 will be available in three variants: base, S, and SE, mirroring the lineup of its predecessor. The top-tier SE model will feature Showa electronic semi-active suspension, setting it apart from the base and S variants, which come equipped with manual suspension systems offering fewer adjustment options.
In terms of braking, Kawasaki has upgraded the rear disc brake, a larger 260 mm rotor now available on the bike. And lastly, there’s a USB Type-C charging port on the handlebar, which should make it ideal for long-distance tourers. So
While the Versys 1000 is no longer available in the Indian market, the new Kawasaki Versys 1100 will command a premium over the ₹13.91 lakh (ex-showroom) that it’s predecessor was sold at. As for its competition, the new Kawasaki Versys 1100 will go up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 1200, the new BMW R 1300 GS, and the Ducati Multistrada V4.
