Yamaha will soon be sprucing up the FZ S and FZ-X commuters, with the launch likely to take place at the Auto Expo 2025. While we are still a few days away from these new bikes arriving in showrooms, the updates were recently confirmed at a dealership event.
The most notable addition is the new TFT display that replaces the previous LCD screen on both. It should be available with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation features. In addition, both bikes will now also share Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) hybrid technology, already proven in the company's Fascino 125 and RayZR 125 scooters. This system enhances acceleration through mild torque boost while improving overall energy efficiency. Additional benefits include silent starting and an automatic engine start-stop function at idle.
Other mechanical and design elements of both motorcycles are expected to remain unchanged. This means it will continue to be powered by the same 149 cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm. Launch dates have not yet been announced. However, the FZ S will reportedly be available in six new colour options, while the FZ X will come in four new variants.
The current FZ S is priced between ₹1,30,700 and ₹1,31,200, while the FZ X costs ₹1,40,500 (all prices ex-showroom). Given the updates' subtle and impactful nature, we expect this asking price to increase by about ₹4,000 - ₹6,000.
