Besides a slightly different look and some new features, the Yamaha MT-03 has essentially remained the same for the next year.
After updating the MT-09 and MT-07 for 2025, Yamaha has now turned its eyes to the MT-03 – updating it with a bunch of minor tweaks. While it continues to be powered by the same 321 cc, parallel-twin engine producing 42 bhp/ 29.6 Nm, and paired to the same 6-speed gearbox – new to the mix is a slipper and assist clutch. The ergonomics have also improved, and Yamaha claims that it was achieved by going for a slimmer seat. The pillion seat is now also wider with a thicker cushion for greater comfort.
But the update that will grab the attention the most is the new Icy Storm colour scheme introduced with the MT-03. Along with that, the tail section has also been revised for a sleeker profile. Along with that, there’s a new LCD negative dash which supports smartphone connectivity and a USB-A socket onboard as well, to keep your devices charged at all times.
But beyond these minor tweaks, the bike has essentially remained the same. The chassis is the same, and it continues to be sprung by USD fork and monoshock, with disc brakes at both ends. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys (there have been no changes here as well with lighter alloys), and thereby, the kerb weight has also remained the same at 167 kg.
Meanwhile, Yamaha has not revealed anything about launching the updated 2025 MT-03 here. There might be a chance for the new MT-03 to land on our shores sometime in the middle of 2025. However, we can’t say that for sure yet, given how long it took Yamaha to bring the R3 and MT-03 to India. And if it launches here next year, it will have quite the competition from the likes of the Aprilia Tuono 457, and the KTM 390 Duke – both of which are quite the powerhouse with some nifty advanced electronics on board.
