The 2026 Mercedes V-Class is significantly more affordable than its rival from Lexus.
The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class has been launched in India at ₹1.40 crore (ex-showroom, India).
India’s car market has shown growing appetite for premium chauffeur-driven mobility of late. So, here is everything you need to know about the new 2026 V-Class.
The 2026 V-Class makes an immediate impression with its sheer size and road presence. Offered exclusively in an extended wheelbase configuration for India, the MPV features a wheelbase of over 3.4 metres and an overall length nearing 5.4 metres. Its width crosses 1.9 metres, while the tall stance enhances its commanding presence on the road.
India will receive the V-Class only in AMG Line trim. This includes a signature star-pattern grille with LED illumination, multi-beam LED headlamps, sporty bumpers and dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. Additional highlights include LED daytime running lights, roof rails, chrome accents and angular LED tail lamps. The powered sliding doors and split tailgate add both functionality and a premium touch to the exterior design.
It is available in multiple colour options, including Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Alpine Grey, Sodalite Blue, and Crystal White.
The V-Class translates its large exterior footprint into an exceptionally spacious cabin. Buyers can choose between four-seat and six-seat layouts, the latter can also be configured with the second and third rows facing each other.
The four-seat version offers a lounge-like setup with opposing seats. The forward-facing rear seats provide extendable leg support along with ventilation, heating and massage functions. The six-seat layout offers individual captain chairs for added practicality.
Interior highlights include plush leather upholstery, rear sunblinds and dedicated climate vents. The high roofline enhances the sense of space, while subtle AMG branding lends a sporty touch.
Feature-wise, the V-Class includes:
Safety is comprehensive with features such as:
The new V-Class will be offered with both petrol and diesel powertrains. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The V300d diesel uses a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 233.68 bhp.
The V300 petrol features a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 277.76 bhp, supported by an additional 20 bhp from an electric motor.
At an introductory price of ₹1.40 crore, the V-Class sits right between the Toyota Vellfire (₹1.19 crore) and Lexus LM (₹2.15 crore). However, the MG M9, which is an electric box-shaped luxury van, is a lot more affordable at ₹70.90 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
With its blend of space and executive appeal, the V-Class aims to strengthen Mercedes-Benz’s presence in India’s premium mobility space in India.
