Renault India has introduced the updated Kwid starting at ₹4.52 lakh, streamlining the hatchback into just two variants.
The Renault Kwid has received minor updates and the new model has been launched in India at a starting price of ₹4.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2026 Kwid drops its previous multi-trim hierarchy in favour of a streamlined two-variant strategy, now classified under the Evolution and Climber nameplates. Under the revised pricing matrix, the entry-level Evolution variant is priced at ₹4.52 lakh for the manual transmission option and ₹4.89 lakh for the automated manual transmission (AMT) version.
The higher-spec Climber trim carries a standard sticker price of ₹5.14 lakh for the manual configuration and ₹5.60 lakh for the AMT model. That's already more affordable than the outgoing model by around ₹38,000. On top of that, Renault has introduced a new online retail strategy that extends a direct ₹15,000 cash benefit specifically on the Climber manual variant, lowering its effective transaction price to ₹4.99 lakh for customers booking through the brand's digital platform.
Aesthetically, the 2026 version features Renault’s new logo and updated dual-tone wheel covers, otherwise, it remains pretty much unchanged.
The cabin layout houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital LED instrument console, a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, remote keyless entry, central locking, power windows, and electronic power steering. The Climber trim further differentiates itself through dual-tone interior finishes, model-specific exterior accents, and protective wheel arch cladding.
Mechanically, the vehicle remains unchanged, meaning that it's still powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine making 67 bhp and 91 Nm. In terms of the equipment list, the vehicle comes equipped with 17 standard safety features, including dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and seat belt reminders across rows.
Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault India, noted that the restructured lineup aims to make the decision-making process more straightforward for first-time car buyers and two-wheeler upgraders, building on the model's cumulative domestic sales legacy of over 4.5 lakh units since its initial market debut in 2015.
