There were quite a few bike launches this week.
The Indian motorcycle segment witnessed quite a few new launches from varied segments. And yet, one of the major newsmakers was also the recall of a trusty Japanese brand’s retro roadsters. Here’s what made the biggest impact:
TVS has updated its flagship sport bike, the Apache RR 310 for 2024. The brand says its overall performance has been enhanced by 11 per cent, courtesy of a slightly more powerful engine and a bunch of new tech wizardly aimed at improving safety. Aesthetics have also improved, and with those new integrated winglets that can produce up to 3 kg downforce, and that transparent clutch cover – the new Apache RR 310 not just looks, but has also gone premium. Here’s how it squares up against the KTM RC 390 now?
This week saw Triumph launch the new 2025 Speed 400 alongside a more affordable variant: the Speed T4. The latter is aimed to be more commuter-friendly, ideal in the urban world. As a consequence, the 400 cc TR-series engine produces less power, has fewer features and a more accessible price tag of ₹2.17 lakh. Revolt launched the new RV1 – it’s latest, and most affordable offering yet. Available with the choice of two battery packs, both the Revolt RV1 and RV1+ variants have been engineered and packaged in a manner keeping cost under check.
After kickstarting the year with the launch of the new R 1300 GS, BMW has now brought the new F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure to our country. Priced at ₹13.75 lakh and ₹14.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively, both bikes have become more expensive by ₹1 lakh. For that extra price, the bikes now pack in a bigger, more powerful engine, built lighter and the body design has also gone much more athletic than the outgoing F 850 GS, and F 850 GS Adventure.
Known for its impeccable engineering quality backed with reliability – Honda recalled its entire 300-350 cc range which includes the Honda H’Ness CB 350, CB350 RS, CB350, CB300R, and CB300F. The issue for the recall might lead to errors in the ABS and traction control system. What makes it worse is that these affected models were manufactured over four years, which means a large batch has been affected. How has Honda acted upon it, tap the link here to find out.
