It clearly was the year of electrics gathering a lot of momentum and Ola’s mid-level product impressed mightily.
Making electric mobility accessible to the masses is one of the key mission statements at Ola Electric. And the company is delivering just that with its three products. But the Ola S1 Air delivered a great balance between performance, convenience, fancy tech and accessible pricing and hence the jury has decided to award it the 2024 Acko Drive Awards' EV Bike Of The Year.
The S1 Air had to not only go up against its own brethren, the S1 X and S1 Pro Gen 2, but also faced fierce competition from the Ather 450S and the Ultraviolette F77. Compared to the larger S1 Pro Gen 2 which costs a fair bit, the S1 Air doesn’t compromise much on the performance, range and features. It is also priced on par with the 450S and does deliver a bit more kit and oomph when compared to the Ather.

So, the 2.7 kW motor is able to produce a peak power of 6 kW that helps it go from naught to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Plus, it still is able to achieve a top speed of 90 kmph. It backs up this performance with a 2.9 kWh battery pack that is good to last 125 km in real world riding conditions (claimed). Plus, it has a large colour TFT dash to help you control various parameters and even access proper navigation with the help of Ola Maps.
