The Indian automobile industry is set to witness a series of significant launches in March 2025. Following a relatively quiet February, manufacturers are gearing up to introduce new models, including electric vehicles (EVs) and luxury offerings. The upcoming launches include Maruti Suzuki’s first EV, Tata’s electric Harrier, and performance-driven models from MG, Kia, Volvo, and Mercedes-Maybach.

Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the EV segment with the e-Vitara, an all-electric SUV unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo. The model, which features a muscular design and premium cabin, will be available with two battery options—49 kWh and 61 kWh—offering a claimed range of over 500 km. Although Maruti has not confirmed an official launch date, dealerships have begun accepting bookings, and the vehicle has been spotted at showrooms.

Tata Motors is expanding its EV portfolio with the Harrier.ev, a production-spec model showcased at the Auto Expo. While the design remains largely similar to the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant, the Harrier EV will incorporate electric-specific styling elements. It is confirmed to feature dual electric motors, an all-wheel-drive system, and 500 Nm of torque. Further details on the battery and range are yet to be disclosed.

MG Motor India is set to introduce the Cyberster, an all-electric two-door convertible, marking its entry into the performance EV space. The Cyberster recently set a record for the fastest 0-100 kmph sprint at Sambhar Salt Lake, achieving the feat in 3.2 seconds. The model is equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors producing 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque and will be available through select MG dealerships.

After debuting the facelifted EV6 at the 2025 Auto Expo, Kia India will now launch the EV later this month. The bookings had opened in January at the time of its reveal. The facelifted EV6 features revised LED headlights, new alloy wheels, and an updated cabin with a two-spoke steering wheel. Key features include dual 12.3-inch displays, a 12-inch heads-up display, and an upgraded 84 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of over 650 km.

Volvo has confirmed the launch of the updated XC90, which receives minor design enhancements, including a refreshed bumper, sleeker LED headlights and taillights, and new alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV is expected to feature an 11.2-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. While Volvo is likely to continue with the mild-hybrid petrol powertrain, a plug-in hybrid variant could also be introduced.

Mercedes-Maybach is set to launch the SL 680, a high-performance luxury roadster. It will be the first two-seater model under the Maybach banner, featuring a distinctive dual-tone red and black exterior, LED headlights, and 21-inch alloy wheels. The cabin will offer a dual-tone white and grey theme, an 11.9-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and power seats with memory functions. The SL 680 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, generating 585 PS and 800 Nm, enabling a 0-100 kmph acceleration in four seconds.
