Hero MotoCorp has officially unveiled the new Xpulse 450 at the EICMA 2026 motorcycle show in Milan, marking the Indian manufacturer's entry into the middleweight adventure motorcycle segment. Powered by an all-new 421 cc single-cylinder engine, the flagship ADV represents a step up from the existing Xpulse 210, offering higher highway touring capabilities alongside off-road performance.

The development of the Xpulse 450 draws heavily upon technical learnings from Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the company's factory racing division. Experience accumulated from international competition, including the Dakar Rally, has informed the motorcycle's overall engineering, focusing on chassis durability, suspension dynamics, weight distribution, and rider ergonomics.
At the heart of the flagship ADV is an all-new 421 cc liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC single-cylinder engine delivering 46 bhp at 9,100 rpm and 38 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. The high-output powertrain significantly expands the motorcycle's capability, enabling sustained high-speed highway cruising while preserving extreme off-road performance.

Built to handle rugged terrain and long-distance touring, the XPulse 450 features fully adjustable suspension tuned for impact absorption and precise control. Up front, it is equipped with 43 mm KYB inverted cartridge forks providing 225 mm of wheel travel, featuring 22-step compression and rebound damping adjustment. In a category-first technological milestone, the motorcycle debuts integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, setting a new benchmark for infotainment in the middleweight adventure segment.
In the Indian market, the Xpulse 450 enters a competitive middleweight ADV space. Upon its commercial launch, the new motorcycle will compete directly against established rivals including the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure, as well as upcoming options like the Norton Atlas.
