Amazon unveiled several new products and showcased its latest AI technology advancements. The tech giant announced a smarter and more conversational Alexa, smart Echo Frames, Echo Show 8, Map View for smart homes, eero Max 7 Wi-Fi mesh system, upgraded Fire TV Stick models and more.
Amazon wants to redefine voice interactions with a revamped Alexa powered by generative AI. Users can expect an improved natural conversation experience with enhanced reasoning and the ability to understand complex requests.
Amazon's Echo Frames and Carrera Smart Glasses offer seamless integration with Alexa, allowing users to perform everyday activities like adding items to shopping lists and controlling smart home devices. They also support features like music playback and real-time location. These glasses are versatile and durable, with multiple lens options and IPX4 splash resistance.
The Echo Show 8 has been upgraded for enhanced video calls and audio experiences. It features a centred camera, background noise removal, and enhanced audio processing for immersive sound and room adaption. The Echo Show 8 also introduces adaptive content that changes the display based on proximity and makes it more user-friendly. The Echo Show 8 is up for pre-order for $149.99 and will be available from October 2023.
The Echo Show 8 Photos Edition offers a new subscription called PhotosPlus and prioritizes personal photos on the screen. It will be available later this year for $159.99, with the subscription at $1.99 a month after six months.
Amazon is launching Map View in the Alexa app, enabling users to create a digital floor plan of their homes and pin connected devices for easy control.
The eero Max 7 is Amazon's first Wi-Fi 7 mesh system. It combines TrueMesh networking technology with the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard for fast-speed connectivity and low latency. It is priced starting at $599.99 and will be available soon.
The 2nd-generation Fire TV Stick 4K is 30% more powerful than its predecessor, with support for Wi-Fi 6. It is up for pre-orders at $49.99.
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) supports Wi-Fi 6E, Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos audio. It also introduces the Fire TV Ambient Experience for a more engaging TV display. It is priced at $59.99.
Amazon is enhancing the Fire TV search experience with generative AI, providing more natural and conversational content discovery. The "Continue Watching" row combines recently watched content from various streaming providers, simplifying content selection. It will be available later this year in the U.S.
Amazon has announced a compact 24-inch Fire TV Soundbar offering immersive sound, crisp dialogue, and improved bass, supporting DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio. It's compatible with all Fire TV streaming media players and TVs and is priced at $119.99.
Amazon has also unveiled the Echo Pop Kids speaker, a smart speaker for kids with fun character themes and Amazon Kids+ content. It is priced at $49.99 and will be available in October 2023.
