Ampere is all set to debut its premium electric scooter on April 30. Hailed as the “Next Big Revolution” by the company and slated to be called NXG, this upcoming electric scooter has already traveled the length of the country (Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K)) and registered two India Book of Records ahead of the launch.

Although we have yet to confirm the mechanical details of the upcoming Ampere NXG. What’s known is that there will be four ride modes on offer, and the scooter will feature a mid-mounted motor with a belt drive. Earlier in a teaser, Ampere confirmed that the battery will be located below the rider, as a result of which the flat footboard will compensate for space that the battery might have otherwise taken up.
The body design of the Ampere NXG might look a bit modern and sporty. Suspension duties will be taken care of by telescopic fork and dual-spring shock absorbers. LED headlight, tail light, and apron-mounted turn indicators will be some of the other key highlights. Feature-wise, the Ampere NXG will get a TFT display instrument console, that will support smartphone connectivity. Thereby features like accept/reject call, music playback, and turn-by-turn navigation are also expected.
Pre-bookings for the Ampere NXG have already commenced and interested customers can do so for a token amount of ₹499, which is refundable. Given that Ampere is pitching the NXG as its most premium scooter ever, thereby it is expected to slot and be priced above the Ampere Primus which costs ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In this price range, it will compete against the likes of the TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, and Ather Rizta.
