Apple is preparing to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE, featuring a host of technological advancements that are likely to redefine the "entry-level" iPhone experience. According to a report by Mac Rumors, citing ET News, LG Innotek will serve as the primary supplier of camera modules for the upcoming device, with Foxconn and Cowell Electronics also contributing to providing critical components.
The Apple iPhone SE 4 is expected to debut in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, likely around March, in line with Apple's previous launch pattern.
The iPhone SE 4 is likely to undergo a significant design transformation, adopting an all-display aesthetic reminiscent of the iPhone 14. Key specifications are likely to include a 6.06-inch OLED display, a substantial upgrade from previous LCD iterations, and the integration of Face ID technology replacing the traditional Touch ID.
Other expected specifications suggest a powerful configuration, including 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, a USB-C port, and an iPhone 14-equivalent battery.
A notable innovation is the potential inclusion of a multi-purpose Action button, replacing the conventional mute switch.
Camera capabilities may include a rear 48-megapixel Wide Angle "Fusion" lens capable of standard and 2x zoom photography, complemented by a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front-facing camera.
Most intriguingly, the device is expected to debut Apple's first in-house designed 5G chip, marking a significant technological milestone.
