Aprilia has teased a new motorcycle on its social media and it seems, the new motorcycle in question will be its entry-level offering in the supersport segment. The new Aprilia bike is likely to be the RS440 which has been spotted undergoing testing in Europe and India as well. In fact, the new Aprilia RS440 will be manufactured at its manufacturing plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. The new Aprilia motorcycle will make its global debut on September 7.
As we can see in the teaser image, the new RS440 takes design cues from its elder siblings: the Aprilia RS660 and the Aprilia RSV4 superbike. It features split-LED headlight and a sharp screen, even the profile of the bike is very aggressive and the overall styling of the new Aprilia motorcycle is very sporty. The Aprilia RS440 is rumoured to be powered by a 440cc parallel-twin engine. This powerplant will share a lot in common with the engine of the Aprilia RS660. The liquid-cooled engine could deliver around 44 bhp so as to meet the A2 licensing norms in Europe and will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with quickshifter.

The Aprilia RS440 will be a proper performance machine and could employ a twin spar frame that’s suspended on USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. We hope the suspension hardware is adjustable. Stopping power will be courtesy disc brakes and dual-channel ABS will come standard.
While the global debut is in a couple of days, the Aprilia RS440 could make its India debut during the BharatGP race between September 22-24. In terms of competition, the RS440 will go against the KTM RC390, TVS Apache RR 310 and the upcoming Yamaha R3. Talking about price, it wouldn't be cheap by any means and we expect Aprilia to price the new RS440 around Rs 3.50-4 lakh (ex-showroom).
