Ather Rizta Launch On April 6

Ather Energy has teased us the possibility of the Ather Rizta launching on April 6. The brand’s upcoming family electric scooter has already been revealed in full camouflage though. And as per Ather Energy, the Rizta will be bigger than the average scooter (both electric and petrol-powered) found in the market today. 

Design-wise, the Ather Rizta will have a completely new body design. Gone will be the sharp-edge design that we fondly associate with Ather scooters. Instead, the Rizta will have curved edges with a completely new front section and a bigger footboard. 

But the main talking point of the Ather Rizta will be its seat. The marque claims that it will be the biggest unit ever seen on any scooter. To enunciate this claim, Ather Energy also released images comparing the Rizta’s seat with that of the Ola S1 Pro and the Honda Activa, with the former showcasing a larger and wider surface area compared to the other two.

Details about the Ather Rizta’s battery and electric motor will be revealed at the time of launch. It is confirmed though that it will be built on the same platform that also underpins the current-gen 450X scooters. For reference, the Ather 450X is powered by a 3.7 kWh battery pack paired to a 6.4 kW electric motor. It is likely that the Ather Rizta might compromise a bit on performance to extract maximum range and efficiency out of the set-up. 

The ex-showroom price of the Ather Rizta will also be quite competitive and it can very well undercut the current-gen Ather 450S’s price by a fair margin.
