Ather is gearing up to make some pretty grand announcements at its Community Day event on August 30. The Bengaluru-based public EV company has already confirmed that it will be unveiling a brand new platform called “EL”, which will be a “low-cost platform”, thus suggesting that scooters that will spawn off will be affordable in nature. Beyond that, it has now also confirmed that it will be debuting a brand new concept vehicle. This is the “First Ever” concept from Ather and it claims to have been “designed for tomorrow’s riders.”
While the teaser does not reveal much, it does give us a glimpse of a very radical, sporty-looking vehicle. We think it will be a maxi-scooter, especially with the way the headlight and taillight have been positioned. The headlight gets a sharp, pointy profile, and is flanked by what-seems-to-be-a body coloured cowl and the tail light angle is also positioned quite steeply. Another detail that stands out the most here is the two-seat design, wherein the pillion seat is placed really high, typically found on sports bikes. This makes us hopeful that the concept vehicle can also be Ather’s upcoming electric motorcycle, which will be based on the brand’s Zenith platform.
While details about the same are limited, as the brand is still working out the nuances, however, Tarun Mehta, the CEO and co-founder, Ather Energy, did reveal a few details in an exclusive interview with our Editor-in-Chief, Siddharth Vinayak Patankar. Check out that video below:
