August 2026 Auto Sales: Royal Enfield Records 1.26 lakh Motorcycle Sales With Strong Domestic Demand

Royal Enfield has continued its growth momentum with total motorcycle sales of 1,26,479 units in August 2026, marking an 11 per cent year-on-year increase over the 1,14,002 units sold during the same month last year. The growth was primarily led by the domestic market, where the Chennai-based manufacturer sold 1,14,204 motorcycles, up 11 per cent from 1,02,876 units in August 2025. Exports also witnessed healthy growth, rising 10 percent to 12,275 units.

The latest sales performance comes ahead of India's festive buying season, a period that traditionally sees higher demand for premium motorcycles, while Royal Enfield continues to refresh its portfolio and strengthen its community-driven brand presence. Royal Enfield's domestic business continued to underpin its overall performance, with cumulative sales for the current financial year reaching 5,20,695 units, representing a robust 28 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year.

Exports, however, present a mixed picture. While August shipments increased by 10 percent year-on-year, cumulative exports for FY2026-27 currently stand at 54,443 units, down 9 percent from the same period in the previous financial year. Royal Enfield expanded its portfolio during August with the introduction of the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition in India and Nepal. Inspired by the legacy of the Gorkha Regiment, the special edition features a unique Gorkha Green paint scheme, bespoke crossed Khukri insignia, and is accompanied by a dedicated apparel collection celebrating the regiment's heritage.

The company also updated its popular Continental GT 650 café racer. The refreshed motorcycle receives a black-painted instrument cowl, LED indicators, a USB Type-C fast charging port, and blacked-out engine and exhaust components. The Rocker Red variant additionally gets black alloy wheels, giving the motorcycle a more contemporary appearance.
