Domestic sales grew by a steady 9 percent, reaching 75,038 units against 68,881 units in the same period last year. This indicates continued demand for Royal Enfield's motorcycles within the Indian market.

Royal Enfield's performance in the international market was particularly impressive. Exports saw a significant jump of 61 percent, with 6,832 units shipped globally compared to 4,255 units in April 2023. This highlights the growing popularity of Royal Enfield motorcycles overseas. The arrival and positive response of the new Himalayan was also felt globally and that has contributed well in this regards.

The retro bikemaker’s CEO, B Govindarajan, reflected on the month’s sales by teasing us of a ‘strong pipeline of products’ for the coming year. Royal Enfield is setting up for a busy launch season with at least 4 new motorcycles expected in the next 8 months. The crown jewel is likely the Classic 650, a bigger version of its iconic retro roadster. Furthermore, with the upcoming Interceptor Bear 650, Royal Enfield is likely to give the Interceptor a more rugged and well kitted out variant, capable of doing some soft roading. Classic 350 fans will have a bobber option to choose from, arriving in the next few months under the name Shotgun 350 or Goan Classic 350. The Hunter 450, a street-friendly naked motorcycle, is also on the horizon. There are rumors of another launch, the Guerrilla 450 scrambler, but details and launch date remain unconfirmed by Royal Enfield.
