Auto Sales August 2023: Mahindra's Domestic PV Sales Sees Growth

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), released its August 2023 sales report, showcasing robust growth in its performance. In August 2023, the company reported a total auto sales figure of 70,350 vehicles, marking a noteworthy 19 per cent increase when compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. This figure includes both domestic sales and exports.

Within the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra achieved a new sales record, selling 37,270 SUVs in the domestic market. This represents a substantial 26 per cent growth compared to the previous year. When accounting for both the domestic and export markets, Mahindra recorded a total of 38,164 SUVs sold in August 2023. Concurrently, domestic sales of Commercial Vehicles reached 23,613 units during the same month.

In the LCV < 2T category, Mahindra recorded sales of 3,896 vehicles during August 2023, with no change compared to the previous year. The company reported the sale of 18,768 units in this category for August 2023, reflecting an 11 per cent growth compared to the previous year. Mahindra's sales in the LCV > 3.5T + MHCV category reached 949 units in August 2023, representing a 47 per cent growth compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the three-wheelers category, which also includes electric 3-wheelers, Mahindra accomplished sales of 7,044 units in August 2023, marking a 47 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Despite its overall performance, Mahindra reported a total of 2,423 vehicles exported in August 2023. However, this figure indicates a 17 per cent decline compared to the same period in the previous year.
