Auto Sales August 2023: Toyota Achieves 53 Per Cent Growth

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has just reported a milestone, recording its most robust monthly performance to date in August 2023. The company sold 22,910 units during this period, marking a 53 per cent year-on-year growth when compared to August 2022, when they sold 14,959 units. This surge in sales wasn't limited to the domestic market alone, as TKM also managed to export 1,940 units in August 2023. This reflects both the strength of their domestic sales and their expanding global reach.

Atul Sood, Vice President of Sales, and Strategic Marketing at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "We are thrilled to report our best-ever sales performance by selling 22,910 units in the month of August 2023. Strong sales volume and enhanced demand showcase customers’ ever-growing affinity for the brand.”

Notably, TKM's success in August follows closely on the heels of their previous best-ever performance in July 2023, where they achieved a record-breaking sales figure of 21,911 units. This consistent upward trajectory in sales showcases the company's robust and resilient performance in recent times.

Toyota continues to witness robust demand for its vehicles across various segments. Notably, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Innova Hycross models are consistently sought after by customers, reflecting their popularity and desirability in the market. In the larger vehicle categories, the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender maintain their position as segment leaders, showcasing their enduring appeal and dominance in their respective segments.

The positive trend isn't confined to a single month, as TKM has been consistently excelling throughout the year. From January to August 2023, they sold a total of 147,192 units, signifying a growth rate of 34.2 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year when they sold 109,669 units. This growth can be attributed to TKM's enhanced production capacity achieved through three-shift operations, enabling them to meet the surging demand in the market.
