Honda Motorcycle And Scooter India Limited reported that it sold a total of 3,08,083 scooters and motorcycles in December 2024, out of which 2,70,919 units were retailed in the domestic market and the rest 37,614 units were exported. Its total sales through 2024 ended at an all-time high note with 58,01,498 unis being sold, thus marking a 32% year-on-year growth. The company's domestic sales reached 52,92,976 units in December, while exports accounted for 5,08,522 units.
Honda achieved several milestones in 2024, including reaching 6 crore domestic sales since its 2001 India debut. Its 125 cc motorcycles, Shine and SP125, surpassed 30 lakh customers in Eastern India, while the Activa surpassed 10 million units in Southern India.
Honda also expanded its manufacturing capabilities by adding a third assembly line at its Gujarat plant and a new engine assembly line in Manesar. The Japanese brand also introduced OBD2B-compliant versions of several models including the Activa 125, SP125, SP160, and Unicorn.
Looking ahead, Honda will be entering the much coveted electric vehicle segment with two new models - Active e: and QC1. Deliveries for both are scheduled to start from February 2025 onwards. While prices are still under wraps, the brand is expected to reveal the same at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
