Auto Sales December 2024: Toyota Registers Growth Of 40 Per Cent

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold more than 3.26 lakh units in India in the calendar year 2024 (CY24), witnessing a growth of 40 per cent compared to 2023 when it sold more than 2.33 lakh units. 

Out of the nearly 3.26 lakh units sold, little more than 3 lakh units were sold in the domestic market while the rest came from exports. In December 2024, Toyota sold 29,529 units with a 29 per cent year-on-year growth compared to December 2023. Of these, 24,887 units were sold in the domestic market and 4642 units were exported. 

Sabari Manohar, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota said, “We are immensely proud to close 2024 with a record-breaking performance, achieving an impressive 40 per cent year-on-year growth. The SUV and MPV segments being key contributors grew at 20 per cent over the same period last year. We are also observing a growing shift of consumer preferences towards vehicles offering sustainability, value proposition of dependability quotient, enhanced safety and better resale value which is boosting our sales. 

Toyota also mentioned that its three best-selling vehicles included the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Hilux. It also said that new launches like the Urban Cruiser Taisor and Camry have helped bring more customers to the brand.
