Auto Sales June 2024: Mahindra Saw 23% Growth In Passenger Vehicle Sales

Mahindra and Mahindra sold 69,397 units in June 2024, witnessing an overall year-on-year growth of 11 per cent. The brand sold 40,644 passenger vehicles in India in the month gone by and exported 2,597 units. 

In the domestic market, Mahindra sold 40,022 units in June 2024, a YoY growth of 23 per cent. In the first six months of 2024, the homegrown carmaker sold more than 1.24 lakh units in India with a YoY growth of 24 per cent. In the same period, it exported 7,125 units and it grew by just 3 per cent.

Mahindra and Mahindra sold 20,594 units of commercial vehicles along with 6,184 three-wheelers. Compared to June 2024, Mahindra saw a decline of 1 per cent in commercial vehicle sales and a 3 per cent downtick in sales of three-wheelers. From January to June 2024, the brand sold 80,177 units of commercial vehicles including commercial vehicles and three-wheelers. Compared to the same period last year, Mahindra saw a growth of 1 per cent, having sold 79032 units then.

Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, said, “June has been a momentous month, as we rolled out the 200,000th XUV700 from our facility. We also celebrated 25 years of Bolero Pik-Ups, a category creator and a market leader in the LCV segment.” As of May 2024, Mahindra had an order backlog of 2.2 lakh units which included 50,000 units of the XUV 3XO and the rest for its remaining portfolio in India.
