Despite the decline in FY25 sales, sales in March 2025 saw a YoY growth of 2.6 per cent.
Hyundai Motor India sold more than 7.62 lakh units in the financial year 2024-25 (FY25), seeing a year-on-year (YoY) decline of 4 per cent compared to FY24. In March 2025, the South Korean brand sold 67,320 units, witnessing a YoY growth of 2.6 per cent as the brand sold 65,601 units in March 2024.
The brand’s total sales of 7.62 lakh units include nearly 5.99 lakh units sold in the domestic market and more than 1.63 lakh units exported. This makes Hyundai India the second largest exporter of passenger vehicles in India, behind Maruti Suzuki. Sales of the brand were helped with the launch of the Creta Electric but it’s too early to comment if it actually made a significant difference.
As per Hyundai, the Creta was the best-selling SUV in India, with 52,828 units sold in the January - March quarter of 2025. Hyundai also mentioned that since its inception, it has sold more than 25 lakh SUVs, and 15 lakh Cretas have been sold since the compact SUV made its debut in 2015. SUVs also contribute to 68.5 per cent of the brand’s total sales in FY25.
