The Kia Sonet continues to be a key growth driver for the company’s overall sales figure, with sales of 8,251 units.
Kia India reported a cumulative sale of 24,770 units in May 2023, as compared to 18718 units in May 2022, registering a hike of 32.33 percent in its domestic sales. The exports accounted for 6,004 units in the month of May 2023, an increase of 196.06 per cent from the 2028 units distributed in May 2022.
The Kia Sonet continues to be a key growth driver for the company’s overall sales figure, with sales of 8,251 units. Additionally, both the Kia Seltos and the Kia Carens demonstrated strong performance, selling 4,065 units and 6,367 units respectively, while 83 units were sold of the Kia EV6 electric crossover.
Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head, Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, "Although we faced some production limitations due to our plant annual maintenance shutdown for a week in May which impacted our numbers, we are confident of strong performance in coming months.”
Furthermore, the company revealed that its iMT range has received a robust response, and contributed to 38 per cent of the company’s overall sales in May 2023.
Brar added, “We are witnessing a growing demand for our latest technology innovation – iMT range. This month, iMT has contributed to 38 per cent of our total sales.”
In April 2023, Kia India registered a 22 per cent growth, selling 23,216 units, as compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the company also announced that it has sold more than 7 lakh cars since its inception in the country in 2019.
