MG Motor India says it remains optimistic about growth and meet rising customer demand.
MG Motor India announced its retail sales figures for May 2023. With 5006 units sold, the company has witnessed a growth of 25 per cent over the same month last year. The company says it remains optimistic about growth and meet rising customer demand through various ongoing and planned production and operational initiatives.

In April 2023, MG Motor India announced retail sales of 4,551 units, a 126 per cent growth over the same month last year. Moreover, the company also announced at a recent press conference that in the next 5 years, it is expecting the Indian market to tilt heavily towards EVs and is readying to add more vehicles to its electric portfolio.

The company said that it will achieve 65–75 per cent of its sales from the EV portfolio by 2028. MG Motor India will strengthen local manufacturing of EV components and establish a battery assembly unit in Gujarat.

It was in May that the company announced the prices of all the variants of its latest EV – the MG Comet. The small hatch, meant for urban conditions, is currently the most affordable electric car in the country, undercutting the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3.
