On the contrary, its export business grew resoundingly.
Bajaj Auto reported that its two-wheeler sales in the domestic market dipped by 7 per cent last month. The brand retailed 2,03,611 units in November 2024, whereas, in the same corresponding month last year, Bajaj Auto sold 2,18,597 units. This dip in sales is primarily due to the slowdown that follows every year after the festive period. On the contrary, Bajaj Auto’s export business grew encouragingly by 26 per cent. The brand exported 1,64,465 units last month, compared to just 1,30,451 units it did in the same period last year.
Despite this dip in business last month, Bajaj Auto has seen a positive uptick this year. In fact, from April to November 2024, Bajaj Auto has already retailed 16,78,818 units of two-wheelers till now, which is 9 per cent more than retail sales from the same period, last year. The export business also grew by 11 per cent this year, with 10,87,755 units exported in the past eight months. Similarly, Bajaj Auto’s two-wheeler sales increased by 5 per cent, with a total of 3,68,076 units rolling out of the factory line last month, compared to 3,49,048 units rolled out in the same period last year.
Bajaj Auto was quite active this year. From giving the world its first CNG motorcycle, via the Freedom 125, to introducing the biggest Pulsar yet aka the Pulsar NS400Z – both bikes were launched with quite the competitive asking price, making them quite the value for money package as well. The Freedom 125 has been off to a pretty encouraging start, and the same is expected to benefit Bajaj Auto in the coming months too.
