While motorcycle sales fell marginally, Hero has taken a big hit in the scooter segment.
Sales report of Hero MotoCorp for November, 2024 has been released and it isn’t good news for the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country. Hero managed to sell 4,59,085 units last month which was significantly lower than the 4,91,050 units it managed to sell in the corresponding month last year. The above performance means that sales have dropped by 6.5 per cent for Hero MotoCorp.
An area of concern for the brand will be its power outing in the scooter segment. Despite introducing new products, scooter sales stood at 33,949 units last month as opposed to 49,774 units in November, 2023. Hero had unveiled the new Destini 125, but it still hasn’t been sold. Even the Hero Xoom 125R and the Xoom 160 have been much delayed which can help the brand turn the tide with respect to scooter sales.
At the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show, Hero showcased a range of new products which should help the brand regain traction. The new introductions included the Hero XPulse 210, Hero Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250 and the updated Mavrick 440 with USD fork.
