Suzuki registered its highest-ever monthly sales since it started operating in India.
Suzuki’s monthly sales this festive season were at an all-time high as the brand closed the month with total sales of 1,20,055 units. This marks a whopping 55 per cent month-on-month growth from September 2024 sales when Suzuki India retailed just 77,263 units. On a year-on-year basis, Suzuki’s sales grew by 19 per cent compared to October 2023 figures which saw the brand retail 1,00,507 units.
The increased sales growth was primarily driven by the domestic market, which registered 1,09,940 unit sales. This further marks a 24 per cent growth compared to the brand's October 2023 sales figure in India. However, exports declined by 31 per cent last month, with just 15,115 units exported, compared to the 21,922 units it exported in September 2024.
The sales increase became crucial because Suzuki India recently revived its lineup by launching two new premium bikes in India – GSX-8R and V-Strom 800 DE. While both are not expected to rake in mass-level sales, introducing these two new bikes has helped revive the brand’s image in the country. Furthermore, Suzuki is also gearing up to launch a new iteration of its popular commuter scooter, the Access 125. Test mules of this upcoming model have already been spotted several times on the road, and you can read about the fundamental changes being made to the scooter here.
Speaking about the sales performance, Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki India concluded, “Reaching this record in sales is an important milestone for all of us at Suzuki. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our valued customers, business associates, and dealer network for their continued support which has contributed to this achievement. This growth reflects our team’s hard work and trust of our customers as they continue to ride a Suzuki two-wheeler. We will continue to provide exceptional experiences to customers across India.”
