The whole Bajaj Group will budget in Rs 5000 crores over the next five years for CSR activities.

Even as Bajaj Auto gears up for a slew of two-wheeler launches, the Bajaj Group as a whole has made the announcement that it will be putting in Rs 5,000 crores over the next five years for its ‘Beyond Bajaj’ initiative. This new identity’s main role will be to carry out the group’s various CSR activities that aim to impact nearly 2 crore Indians in the same time period.

In the past ten years, the Bajaj Group has made significant contributions to the tune of Rs 4,000 crores for skill development of youth hailing from tier-2 and tier-3 cities, health and livelihood of marginalised women and conserving water to ease the troubles of people living Aurangabad district and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

The key focus going forwards will be the same with four major prongs to the Beyond Bajaj identity being as follows:

  • The Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) program will provide key learnings to engineering and diploma students, training and upscaling them to understand the Industry 4.0 standards of technology.

  • A Certificate Program in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) will enable tier-2 and tier-3 city students to take on financial services and thus provide employment in over 140 towns in India.

  • The Bajaj Water Conservation Project will continue and aims to ease the drought affected regions of Maharashtra as well as provide the necessary healthcare and sanitation help for the affected families.

  • The Jamnalal Bajaj Trust initiative – Hamaara Sapna – will continue to help the women living in the slum regions of Mumbai, by taking on a holistic approach to provide them the necessary education and skills to take on jobs in the real world.

At the event, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said: "Launching the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) last year has been a valuable learning experience for us. It gave us a very clear picture of the critical gap between theoretical education and practical skills needed in the manufacturing industry. With Bajaj Beyond, we will expand our skilling efforts across the group. Together, we will design future-proof curriculums, provide real-world, hands-on experiences, and equip our youth with the adaptability and innovation required to thrive in the ever-evolving mobility landscape."
